The Midfield story is one of hard work, humble beginnings and great Australian success.

Founded by Colin McKenna in 1975, The Midfield Group – as we are now known – has grown from a three-man operation to a company with more than 1500 employees and product that is consumed in more than 90 countries around the globe.

Based in Australia’s Great South Coast region of Victoria, one of the world’s greenest and greatest farming areas, we partner with more than thousands of farmers across the district to deliver quality meat and dairy products throughout the world. We also operate more than 23000 acres of our own prime agricultural land, while leasing another 10400 acres from our local farming partners.

Our state-of-the-art meat processing facility in Warrnambool is internationally recognised, with Midfield beef, lamb, veal, mutton and their by-products traversing Australia and the globe. We also own and operate Australia’s newest dairy company, The Union Dairy Company, which uses the lush green pastures of one of Australia’s prime dairy regions as the basis for success.

We adhere to the world’s strictest quality assurance regulations and place animal welfare at the forefront of our business. We process all product according to traditional Halal methods and have true control of our product from paddock to plate, which allows us to deliver consistent, quality product fresh to the world daily.

Midfield is one of very few food processors that is Australian Trusted Trader (ATT) Accredited as this Federal Government seal of approval is “Gold Standard” and in recognition of our secure supply chain and compliant trade practices.

Midfield is passionate about supporting our communities and reinvest in education, training and the long-term future of our community on a daily basis.

We remain a 100 per cent Australian, family-owned business with Colin, our Managing Director, still playing a hands-on role. The key staff members who have seen the company grow from its early foundations are still here, and the next generation of the McKenna family are playing pivotal roles in the group’s day-to-day running.
