Ocat Report
Canberra Day Spa
At Canberra Day Spa, we treat every feedback from clients seriously, especially the negative ones, as we do not want anyone walking out our day spa feeling unsatisfied. That is why when we saw Jessica’s long and detailed review on Google on 7th July 2022, we started the investigation straightaway. The treatment and interactions that Jessica received, as described in her review, was nothing but horrific and hostile. If that really happened, we genuinely believe and encourage Jessica to take this case to Fair Trading ACT and seek compensation. The way the therapist treated Jessica was inhumane, and should be sued for wrongfully handling clients with pregnancy.
But unfortunately we cannot find any recent history of Jessica coming to our facility nor can we find the two email exchanges that Jessica mentioned between our team members and her partner regarding her 6 months pregnancy, as we never delete any email exchanges we have with our clients. The only record we have was that there was a $150 gift voucher purchase for a client named Jessica Thompson in May 2018. Based on the fact that gift vouchers were only valid for 6 months back that time, we can assume that Jessica came and used the voucher soon after May 2018. But we unfortunately couldn’t find any phone or email address where we can get in touch with Jessica, nor the treatment details. In fact, we still have no idea exactly which package Jessica had at that time. We are also puzzled as why there was no record of redeeming the voucher. For all these reasons we strongly advise Jessica to get in touch with us and provide more details as when she had the visit.
There was a management change from July 2018 and for that reason, the investigation from our side was not able to go any further, as we can not get hold of the previous owner nor the employees working here over 4 years ago. As clients who have been to us all know that, under the new management, we have this 100% satisfaction guarantee policy. In every treatment room, toilet, bathroom, client lounge, pedicure area, we all have the notice clearly reminding clients that “If you are not satisfied with our services, please let us know before you leave. So we can redo it or we can offer discount or total refund”. And we are proud to be the only business to do so in Canberra.
The level of seriousness from Jessica’s review means that we will have to get to the bottom of this. As part of the community, we are not just here to run a business, to keep young women employed, but we also need to stand up for dignity and integrity and in this situation, we owe the community an answer, as when, how and why this happened to Jessica. Since we really can’t find anything from our side, thus have no idea how to resolve this issue. We once again ask Jessica to contact us, so we can work on this together. At the meantime, we will keep the community updated.
